No Wings To Fly to God Roxanne Varzi Spoken word/sound 8 min. loop, 2022 Sunday 17, 24, 31 July, 7 Aug. 2022 (...) Birds, (...) are the perfect metaphor of both escape and vision. As an anthropologist not only will I take a bird’s eye view of climate change, supply-chain demands and the fall-out on marine life but I am also interested in the embodied experience of the auditor as they listen and imagine a bird’s eye view of the world. "Music for Incandescent Events meditates our perception of time, memory and place, creating a space for contemplation, for awareness of one’s physical environment, and for exploration of consciousness in the moment." Sarah Peebles

Much of her work explores digitally manipulated found sound, unconventional methods of amplification and distinct approaches to performing shō, the Japanese mouth-organ used in gagaku (court music).
