Die Hörgalerie 'ohrenhoch, der Geräuschladen' ist eine weltweit einzigartige Präsentationsform von Klangkunst in Synthese mit einem speziellen klangarchitektonischen Raumkonzept.

Die drei von Knut Remond entwickelten, speziellen Lautsprecher-Installationen und die schlichte Einrichtung sind die Grundelemente der Hörgalerie.

ohrenhoch, der Geräuschladen' - ein 20 qm kleiner Ladenraum mit Schaufenster und zwei Kellerräume - wurde am 15. Dezember 2007 von Knut Remond und Katharina Moos eröffnet.



The Soundgallery 'ohrenhoch, the Noise Shop' is singular as a new way of presenting Sonic Art, through a specific sound-architectural space concept.

Three special loudspeaker installations developed and designed by Knut Remond, and the sober furnishing are the basic elements of the Sound-Gallery.

'ohrenhoch - the Noise Shop' - a small space of 20 square metres with a shop window, and two cellar rooms - was opened on December 15th, 2007 by Knut Remond and Katharina Moos.

'ohrenhoch, der Geräuschladen' bietet im Archivraum unterschiedliche, kleine von SoundkünstlerInnen speziell angefertigte Soundobjekte zum Verkauf an. Auch die Booklets (2012-2013) und die Audio Field Reports (seit Anfang 2014, Lim. Aufl. je 8 Stück) sind im Archiv ausgestellt und erhältlich.


'ohrenhoch- the Noise Shop' is offering for sale in the archive space different small sound objects specially created by sound artists. Also, the Booklets (2012-2013) and Audio Field Reports since January 2014 are exhibited or heard respectively, in the archive space, and for sale (Lim. Ed. 8 copies).

Darshan with a Pelican

Recorded sounds routed in space

This began on July 18, 2019. We were driving on the Bellarine Peninsula, southwest of Melbourne, when, on a whim, I said, “Let’s go down to Swan Bay.” So we did, and in the car park was a pelican. It came right up to me, and we had a good eye-to-eye session. In Hinduism, having eye contact with a statue of a god is called Darshan, and the pelican and I seemed to have that kind of a relationship. Maybe it wanted food, but it stayed well beyond the time when it was clear that I didn’t have any food to give. So we just sat there, in silent communion, for about 20 minutes. It struck me that there was a complete juxtaposition of non-intersecting consciousnesses there. We were both comfortable in each other’s presence, but as for the details of our communication, I would be at a loss to say.

I have frequently written pieces in the past where various layers of sound are juxtaposed, which layers frequently could be viewed as having nothing to do with each other. And I’m happy to let those layers of sound co-exist. Maybe like the pelican and I, they eventually begin to make their own kind of sense. So here we have five different layers, each of which is made in a different way, and each of which has its own kind of sound motion through space.


Darshan with a Pelican was commissioned by the GRM Paris in 2020 for their acousmonium concert series.

Warren Burt

Composer, performer, writer, instrument builder (both in hardware and in software), video artist, etc.  Born 1949 in Baltimore USA.  Education: State University of New York at Albany BA 1971.  University of Calfiornia San Diego, MA 1975.  University of Wollongong, Australia, PhD 2007.  Composer of instrumental, electronic, choral, sound-poetry, environmental sound works among others.  Producer of about 117 CDs of his own work on his Scarlet Aardvark Label (website soon to be made public).  A long history in education, most recently 2013-2023 at Box Hill Institute Melbourne, where he headed the Masters in Music program. Currently living in Ararat Australia, near the Grampians/Garriwerd National Park.
